The Lee Boys are six family members whose music is rooted in the House of God "sacred steel" tradition. For decades the howling, soaring voice of the steel guitar has dominated the fiery worship services of this Pentecostal church. The band's sound stems from the music that guitarist Alvin Lee and his pedal-steel playing brother Glenn (1968-2000) played at the House of God in Perrine, about 12 miles south of Miami, Florida. Over the years, the Perrine House of God earned a reputation as having some of the hottest praise music in among the organization's nearly 200 churches. Sadly, Glenn Lee died from cancer in 2000. -Bob Stone
